About Stress Dolls

Stress Dolls is the moniker of Chelsea O'Donnell, a songwriter from Buffalo, NY. The project's sound has drawn such comparisons as "Joni Mitchell meets Nirvana," "Avril Lavigne and Foo Fighters in a blender," and "Kathleen Hanna fronting Modest Mouse."

In early 2022 she was invited to work with Jim Wirt (Jack's Mannequin, Something Corporate, Incubus) at Superior Sound Studios in Cleveland, OH. In May of 2024, the album that they worked on together, Queen of No, was released on Sun Pedal Recordings.

In 2025 O'Donnell founded her own record label, Angry Girl Music, after buying back the rights to her music and reissued Queen of No to streaming services.

In addition to being a musician, Chelsea is also a radio personality on BTPM The Bridge, part of Buffalo Toronto Public Media, her region's NPR affiliate. During her time with BTPM she's acted as the host of the regional music show (The Scene), interviewed artists such as Ani DiFranco, and has guested on NPR Music's All Songs Considered podcast, .
