About Raymond Antrobus
"The themes I've written into in all three of my poetry books (To Sweeten Bitter, The Perseverance and All The Names Given) are education, family and as someone living between two countries (US/UK) and having grown up in two worlds (Deaf/hearing). I pay close attention to the languages/etiquettes of each space that (often) tries to compartmentalize who one is and where one belongs. My job as a poet is to highlight the strange/miraculous/visible/invisible details of being alive/of being seen after feeling invisible for so many years.”Recognition and Awards
