About Namel TapWaterz Norris
Namel “TapWaterz” Norris is a paraplegic hip-hop artist, songwriter, and disability rights advocate, as well as co-founder of the 4 Wheel City Foundation. After sustaining a spinal cord injury in 1999, he transformed his journey into a platform that uses music to inspire, educate, advocate, and create opportunities for people with disabilities.TapWaterz has performed on some of the world’s most impactful stages, including the White House, United Nations, and U.S. Capitol. He is a founding member of RAMPD and currently serves on the Recording Academy New York Chapter Advocacy Committee, working to expand accessibility and representation for artists with disabilities across the music industry.
His music blends hip-hop, storytelling, and social impact, with themes of resilience, inclusion, love, and mental health. He has collaborated with acclaimed producer Hit-Boy and continues to create music that bridges culture and purpose. Recent releases include “Unconditional Love” featuring James Ian, “Rap Therapy,” “Remember The Time,” and “Went Deaf.”
TapWaterz is also the creator and producer of the Disability Hip Hop Jam, an annual event held during Disability Pride Month and GRAMMY Week that showcases disabled artists and celebrates disability culture. He is currently expanding this work through the Disability Hip Hop Coalition, a growing movement focused on increasing visibility, access, and opportunities for disabled creatives in music and entertainment.
Through his artistry and advocacy, TapWaterz is helping redefine what inclusion looks like in hip-hop and beyond.
