About Hip Hop Saves Lives
Hip Hop artist, music producer, songwriter, record producer, videographer, video editor, music educator, globetrotter and most importantly a humanitarian.Chad Harper, through his organization Hip Hop Saves Lives has been around the world. From speaking at Ghandi's Ashram in India to songwriting with Carnegie Hall's incarcerated youth program and performing at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. He have written and record songs with Hip Hop legends like Melle Mel, Mr. Cheeks from the Lost Boyz, Keith Murray, Brand Nubian, Smiff N Wesson and worked closely with the founder of Hip Hop DJ Kool Herc. His work has received shoutouts from Wyclef, Chuck D, Ice T, Big Daddy Kane and Kid Capri.
Harper has traveled the world writing and recording music with youth addressing social issues and celebrating humanitarians. He has a special interested in vocalists with disabilities. He's worked with deaf children in Liberia, a blind woman rapper in Cuba, polio survivors in Sierra Leone, and other persons with disabilities in Italy, Kenya, Pakistan, Uganda, and Ireland. Harper is a member of a Rotarian disability group. He attended the Paralympics in Paris 2024 and plans will attend the Winter Olympics in Italy this March 2026. Harper has submitted one song and one album to the Grammys in the past two years and is currently recording an album to submit, featuring vocalists with disabilities around the world.
