Emily Carmen is a songwriter, electric and acoustic violinist, audio engineer, film composer, and orchestrator dedicated to advocating for artists with chronic illness and/or disabilities in the music and entertainment industry. Living with a very rare and severe chronic illness (Hereditary Coproporphyria), she uses her platform to push for accessibility and authentic representation.

Most recently, Emily was Music Supervisor and Editor for the disability awareness film "Emergency Plan," featuring music by Gaelynn Lea. In 2025, Emily’s single “HEY!” was placed on the official GRAMMY® For Your Consideration list in three categories: Best Rock Song, Best Rock Performance, and Song of the Year.

Emily has worked and studied with industry greats, including Sonny Kompanek (orchestrator for Carter Burwell), Steve Sandberg (composer for "Dora the Explorer"), Ira Newborn (composer for "The Naked Gun" and "Ace Ventura"), Joel Thome (Grammy winner, Pulitzer nominee, Frank Zappa collaborator), and jazz icon Illinois Jacquet.
