About Artemis Montague

Artemis Montague (they/them) is a multi-hyphenate and singer-songwriter. A Black mixed-race nonbinary mezzosoprano/baritenor with co-occurring disabilities, they have done performances at 54 Below and Joe’s Pub (affiliated with the Public Theater), and The Green Room 42 in New York, as well as The REACH at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. “She Sings Me Home”, as well as “Rhapsody in Sunflower Yellow” – two full-length Black-, trans-, and queer-led musicals - were written in full (book, music, and lyrics) by Montague. They were a finalist for the 2022 Write Out Loud Contest for their song, “friend”. They have 130+ songs and 2 work-in-progress film scripts. They are also the IIDEAA Board Chair for TEMPO - Trans Expansive Music Professional Organization.
