About Andrew (& Polly)

Andrew Barkan is a blind GRAMMY-nominated composer and songwriter living in Santa Monica, CA. He has scored 80 independent films and documentaries, including 8 features.

With Emmy-nominated partner Polly Hall, Andrew & Polly make songs and scores for children’s television, chart-topping music for families and Ear Snacks -- a podcast centered around kids voices and ideas the New York Times calls “packed with ear worms and made with heart.” Their credits include music for Apple TV+, Netflix, Nickelodeon, Sony, Disney, Sesame Workshop, and brands such as Google, Facebook, Nike, GE, Levi’s, Ikea, Toyota and Sprint.

Andrew is a voting member of the Recording Academy and a founding board member of audio non-profit Kids Listen. He writes and lectures about music for documentaries and media for kids. Andrew lives in a house near the beach with 3 loud children and many overdue library books.
