About Andrew Karnavas

Andrew Karnavas is the Founder and CEO of Yawp Records, a creative audio agency. He has written and produced nine studio albums of original music, produced sync music for ads, designed sound effects for a virtual reality video game, and more. In 2023, Andrew was contracted to join Clutch City Beats, the Houston Rockets NBA Basketball team's first in-house crew of music producers that create original in-game music for the basketball arena and social media posts. Andrew performs a hundred Children’s Music shows annually as AndyRoo and the AndyRooniverse at schools, libraries, and museums nationwide. He has been a featured performer at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington DC, Wortham Center, NYC Parks, and more. Combining his experience in audio production, technical writing, creative writing, and teaching, Andrew developed Just Add Beats, a project-based learning program teaching 2nd-12th graders 21st-Century Skills through audio design and production (beat making, storytelling, and sound effects design). Andrew is a Houston Arts Alliance / City of Houston Let Creativity Happen Grant recipient for his Houston Sound Library project documenting the sounds of Houston, and an HCDE Spirit of Excellence Award recipient. In 2022, Andrew composed an immersive original score for The Aquarius Art Tunnel installation at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. In 2024 and beyond, Andrew is focused on creating apprenticeships in digital media for Houston area students. Yawp Records will be an industry bridge connecting upskilled digital media students with local businesses eager to employ youth to produce podcasts, videos, and sonic branding.
