About Amy Stacey Curtis

Amy Stacey Curtis is a musician, author, and visual artist. Her latest book "How My Brain Saved My Life Twice: A Memoir," chronicles her life before and after a devastating brain injury caused by Lyme disease she didn't know she had, tracing the creativity, resilience, and remarkable inner resources that carried her through. The 2025 winner of Maine’s Got Talent, Amy rearranges five songs weekly on her ukulele, a self-prescribed music therapy helping her speech and dystonia after a six-year progression from psychosis and wheelchair, to walker, to cane, back to her feet. Amy has performed over 700 cover songs, singing what she has learned every Monday at her local open mic in Lewiston, Maine. Also part of the experimental improv duo jessyandamy, Amy performs in various venues throughout her state.
Amy recently released a follower-requested and -titled album "Restrung," inspired by how she "restrung" her brain with the ukulele and restrung the cover songs she sings. This 12-track album is home-recorded and produced by Amy, with featured songs including those by AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, Cyndi Lauper, Heart, Billy Idol, The Cars, Alice in Chains, The Smiths, and Prince.
