RAMPD x Live Nation Celebrate the 34 Years of the ADA
RAMPD and Live Nation came together to celebrate 34 years of ADA! With drinks, dancing and a discussion on Disability and Accessibility in the live entertainment industry, we once again brought together disability community and music industry.
Thank you @LiveNation for hosting this groundbreaking event, and for all in the industry who came by!
This collaboration is historic, as it has opened up discussions on how RAMPD can work with Live Nation to make venues not only more compliance-based accessible, but how to make it more welcomin,g, inclusive and accomodating on a human level for performs, patrons and passerbys with disabilities and sensory conditions.
During the panel, it was mentioned that the name of the game is "autonomy". People with disabilities want to have the freedom to get in and out and enjoy a show without it being a burden to themselves or others to do so.
But what resonated most from the panel that was true throughout the night, is that RAMPD members (the disability community) is part of the music industry, and the music industry executives are also in some way, shape or form, part of the disability community.
People from the Recording Academy, Keychange, Live Nation, Hype Magazine, Apple, Forver 21, influencers, artists, activists and many more came to celebrate this great milestone.
